The Tooling Guarantee

You pay for your tool once. After that, as long as the part design does not change, you never pay Frontier for that tool again.

That is the whole thing. What follows is the detail, including the two conditions that end it, which we would rather state plainly than bury.

When you pay

When parts coming off the press are acceptable to you. Not at design, not at first article, not on a schedule. When the parts are right.

What is covered afterwards, at no charge

• Setups, every time the part runs
• Die maintenance
• Sharpening
• Storage, for as long as the part is live
• Complete rebuilds. If the tool wears out after four million hits, we rebuild it.

Who owns the tool

You do. One hundred percent of the die set and all related tooling. You can take it whenever you want, and you do not have to explain why.

What ends the guarantee

Two things.

The part design changes. A revised print means a different tool, or modifications to an existing one, and that is quoted as new work. This is not a loophole; a die is cut for one geometry and cannot be talked into another.

The tool leaves our floor. The tooling is yours and you can take it whenever you like. But once it goes out our loading dock we can no longer stand behind a tool we are not maintaining, so the guarantee ends there.

Why we do this

Partly because it is a good reason to choose us. But mostly because it aligns the incentives correctly. A shop that charges for die maintenance makes money when your tool needs work, which is exactly the wrong way round. We would rather sharpen early and rebuild before the parts go marginal, because a tired die costs us money and costs you quality.
