Turf Care & Agricultural Metal Stamping

Turf and agricultural parts spend their working lives in dirt, and most of them have to keep an edge while they do it.

That combination, an edge that has to survive abrasion, is what makes this work different from ordinary stamping. The material is specified for the job before anything is cut, and the die has to reproduce that edge geometry on the last part of a long run as faithfully as it did on the first.

Aerator tines are the clearest example. The edge does the work, and a die that has drifted puts a different part in the box in month six than it did in week one. Holding that is a specific piece of knowledge about a specific part, and it is the sort of thing a shop learns once and then keeps.

Tooling accuracy

Our tool room runs three Mitsubishi wire EDMs, and wire EDM is capable of cutting die details to fifty millionths of an inch. That is the accuracy of the tool, not a tolerance we quote on a stamped part — but a die cut that precisely is a die that holds its dimensions through a long production run.

Parts we make for this industry

  • Aerator tines
  • Rake blades
  • Seeder blades
  • Rotor plates
  • Catcher and wheel plates
  • Thatcher blades
  • Brackets and guards

Parts listed are representative of work Frontier has produced. Customer names appear only where that relationship is already public.

Why the tool room matters to you

Frontier builds its own dies. You pay for the tool once, when the parts are acceptable to you, and after that you never pay us for that tool again — setups, maintenance, sharpening, storage and complete rebuilds are covered for as long as the part design does not change.

Common questions

Do you offer heat treating?

Our Lindberg heat treat and temper ovens are tool room equipment, used on die components. Heat treating on production parts is not a service we offer.

Can you match an existing part?

Usually. Send a sample and a print if you have one. If you only have the sample, we can work from that and tell you where we are guessing.

Send us a print

Tell us the part, the material and the annual quantity. We will come back with a straight answer on tooling, lead time and price.
